Reflections of a Midwife Part Ten

Sometimes you are just not in the right place for yourself, and as much as you try ….. you are a square peg in a round hole  and that is ok.  Someone has to be the square peg  (it’s usually me) and I do believe living abroad changes you forever ……you have experienced a different way of living and as I said previously, all of our experiences shape us.

During my time at City, Yummy Mummies however went from strength to strength and I was now teaching pregnancy yoga in Harborne / Solihull and Sutton Coldfield as well as Hypnobirthing, Baby First Aid  and Antenatal Courses and I loved it and still do to this day

It NEVER feels like I am going to work and you ladies kept me going through many a tough time when I would have been sat at home crying if I hadn’t had to come and do my classes  ……..so thank you all from the bottom of my heart.I really mean it when I say you saved my life!

During this time my marriage broke down as the strain was too much on us both  however we remain friends to this day and Tony often makes comments on here which I think confuses some lol. I have to say that he was my back bone throughout my career and especially during all the Bereavement work and court case in Antigua and was an integral part in supporting me running the conference…….and no one was more angry than him when I didn’t get the bereavement post ….I honestly thought he was going to get on a plane and come over to sort it out.

I love teaching my classes because I have time ……time you don’t have in the NHS to spend with moms and dads to be … time to answer their questions and worries without knowing there is another lady waiting, a meeting to attend or a clinic to cover. Time to empower them to believe in themselves.I can also be my authentic self without any worries or fears …… I’m simply a woman who is a midwife helping women who are pregnant  and it’s truly my Happy Place.
